Yunus Sentamu Rejoins Vipers On A Two-Year Deal

Former Uganda international Yunus Sentamu has agreed to sign a two-year deal with Vipers SC, the club has confirmed.

Former Uganda international Yunus Sentamu has agreed to sign a two-year deal with Vipers SC, the club has confirmed.

The 26-year-old left Uganda in 2014 to join Congo’s AS Vita before catching the eye of Tunisian outfit CS Sfaxien.

The Kasese-born attacker was later snapped by Finnish outfit FC Ilves before signing for Albanian outfit KF Tirana.

The move, however, didn’t go smoothly for the striker in his last season as he constantly struggled with injuries at Tirana.

The player then decided to ask the Albanian giants to terminate his contract as he was no longer happy due to the constant injuries and missing his family in Uganda.

Orges Shehi and club’s hierarchy agreed to release him from his contract in 2019 after failing to convince Ssentamu to stay.

Vipers have since announced that Ssentamu has joined the club for a second stint, as he looks to extend his individual record of six goals in 13 appearances and pull further ahead to become top-scorer.

“Everyone knows the special relationship l have with this club and it has always felt like home to me. My desire to win is still the same and l look forward to the opportunity to help the team achieve. I am excited for this next chapter of my career,” Sentamu said after inking the deal.
