Zerdouk has been elevated to the position following the departure of coach Amir Abdou, who resigned to take over Mauritania job.

The 48-year-old gaffer has been handed a four months contract and will be in-charge of the team in this month’s international friendly against Ethiopia.

He will be assisted by former Comoros international Djamel Bakar, who attained his coaching diploma badge in 2020.
