Yaya Toure Offers to Play for Any Premier League Top 6 Team for £1-a-Week

Ivory Coast International Yaya Toure is willing to take a massive pay cut from £220,000-a-week to play for another top six club in the Premier League.

According to the midfielder’s agent Dimitri Seluk, the Manchester City legend is ready to take home just £1 a week to prove to Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola that he can still compete at the top level.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“At a time when big sums are being paid, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move as a free agent to any English club in the top six with a salary of £1 pound a week. But with a bonus system based on certain successes.”[/perfectpullquote]

Seluk disclosed.

Toure who became a free agent at the end of last season was reduced to cameo appearances at Manchester City after the arrival of Pep Guardiola despite taking home a massive £220,000-a-week.

Guardiola had previously sold the Ivory Coast international while at Barcelona, but people hoped their reunion at Manchester City would be a chance for them to bury the hatchet.

Instead, the two had a major fall-out at the start of the 2016-17 season after the manager decided to leave him out of City’s Champions League squad. His agent described his omission as disrespectful, something that pissed off Guardiola.

Toure was forced to apologise before being considered for a place in the City Squad. He apologised but unfortunately found himself on the outside again in 2017-18 campaign having fallen down the pecking order during his absence. He was selected for a mere 10 league games all season as City won the Premier League title.

After leaving the Manchester based side, he launched a surprising attack on Pep Guardiola claiming the former Spanish international had frozen him out because of his colour.

According to Seluk, Toure reportedly turned down big money offers to the United States and China to stay in England and prove to Pep that he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

“Now Yaya has many offers from different countries, where they are ready to pay a lot of money, but we decided to dedicate the next season to Guardiola.

“And to prove and show the fans of Manchester City that Yaya is not finished with football. He is full of energy and wants to play this season in England.” Seluk added.

He also continued the attack on Pep saying the club has lost a lot of support from African fans because of how they treated his player.

Seluk went on to confirm the 34-year-old was “willing to commit himself to an incentivised contract which will see him cash in if he is able to inspire another top club to success”.

“I believe that a player like Yaya would not harm Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool. Yaya – the winner. And never before has a top footballer with leadership qualities harmed any club, especially when it is not necessary to pay for it.”

Considering his versatility, the midfielder would surely be a great steal for any team that secures his services.
