Yaya Toure Finally Apologizes to Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has finally apologized to his manager Pep Guardiola for his agent’s media outbursts in a bid to end his first-team exile.

The Ivory Coast international has only played one game for Manchester city this season after a war of words between his representative Dimitri Seluk and his coach Guardiola.

The Ivorian’s comments come just hours after his agent revealed that he has been trying to contact Guardiola this week on behalf of his client. Seluk admitted that Toure has been caught in the cross fire and vowed to try everything in his power to mend his client’s relationship with Guardiola.

The rift all started after Toure’s agent Seluk went to the media accusing Guardiola of embarrassing the 33-year-old after leaving him out of the UEFA Champion’s League squad.

Guardiola then demanded that Toure had to apologize for his agent’s comments if he ever wanted to have a future at The Etihad and hasn’t played him ever since.

In a statement issued on his Twitter and Facebook pages, Toure apologized to both the club and coach saying,

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“I wish to apologize – on behalf of myself and those who represent me – to the management team and all those working at the club for the misunderstandings from the past.”[/perfectpullquote]

“Those statements do not represent my views on the club or the people who work there. I have nothing but respect for Manchester City and only wish the best for the football club. I am immensely proud to have played a part in the club’s history and want to help City succeed further. I live to play football and entertain the fans.”

“On that note, I would like to thank all of the fans for their messages through this difficult period. This means a great deal to me and my family.”

Toure has been a force to reckon with ever since joining the Premier League side from Barcelona in 2010. He would have been a major force in this new Manchester City set up but for his age, and a team that puts too much emphasis on intensity not forgetting IIker Gundogan’s current form, it will be hard for Yaya Toure to win back a guaranteed starting place.
