Yanga Sports Club is set to announce Frenchman Hubert Velud as their new head coach, Ducor Sports can exclusively reveal.

Velud has agreed to take over the job after a virtual meeting with the club chairman Mshindo Msola on Thursday.

The former Togo national team head coach will sign a two-year-contract with the Tanzania Premier League giants on Monday at the club secretariat.

He is set to quit as the Sudan national team head coach and take up the Yanga job after falling out with the Sudan Football Association officials.

Two days ago, Yanga had announced Cedric Kaze as their new coach, but the Burundian tactician failed to take up the position due to family issues.

It is believed Velud will receive USD 5,000 a month, with the Jangwani giants set to officially confirm his appointment in the next few hours.

The 60-year-old has a great resume having coached some of the biggest clubs in Africa namely TP Mazembe, Hassania Agadir,  Etoile du Sahel, USM Alger and ES Setif.

He also had stint with Togo national team between 2009 and 2010, and was one the coaches caught in the machine gun ambush ahead of the 2010 Nations Cup tournament in Angola.
