Wifried Zaha Inspires Crystal Palace to Biggest Ever Premier League Win

Ivory Coast International Wilfried Zaha conjured another man of the match peformance as Crystal Palace secured their biggest ever win in Premier League history.

The winger who has been in sensational form since returning from a nasty back injury once again showed no signs of slowing down.

He scored the first and created the second before Chelsea loanee Loftus-Cheek, Patrick Van An Holt and Christian Benteke sealed the 5-0 win over Leicester City.

Zaha opened the scoring after 17 minutes thanks to a clever James Marc Arthur pass that put him into space. He made no mistake beating the goal keeper with a thunderous shot into the top corner.

Zaha was relentless and almost doubled the lead 29th minute only to be denied by Ben Hamer in the last second. A well deserved second goal came in the 38th minute with Zaha this time assisting Marc Athur with a cheeky lob.

The foxes reacted by bringing on Andres Silva and Foussane Diabate to try salvage the game but things worsened for the side. They were still outclassed and increasing the game intensity didn’t seem to have the desired effect.

Leicester were forced into a third substitution six minutes later when Nigerian international Wilfried Ndidi went down injured which worsened their situation even more. Without a reliable Central Defensive Midfielder,  they looked vulnerable.

The visitors challenge was finally truely ended in the sixty first minute when Leicester midfielder Marc Albrighton received marching orders after bringing down Zaha who was dashing through to get the third.

The red card sapped the intensity from the game, something the Eagles crystalised on in the final minutes of the game. They scored three more goals in the final ten minutes to round off what will be a memorable performance for the palace fans.

Leicester are now without a win in their last four Premier League games and their overall record is even more alarming. They have only won four out of their last 18 matches which has caused many to demand the manager’s sacking.

Palace on the other hand have been phenomenal. The 5-0 win is their biggest Premier League win and it was the first time the side have beaten the same opponent with a margin of at least three goals twice in a season.

Leicester will be hosting West Ham at the King power next weekend as the Eagles battle it out with Stoke City in what will be a relegation battle.
