We Are Here to Enjoy– Wanyama Says Harambee Stars Are Under No Pressure in Egypt

Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama insists that the team is under no pressure ahead of Sunday evening African Cup of Nations opener against Algeria.

Kenya’s first AFCON assignment after a 15-year absence will be against the North Africans who have been touted as favorites heading into the game.

Speaking ahead of the 11pm duel, Wanyama said the team is under no pressure. He stated that Stars were under pressure in the qualification phase and are in AFCON to enjoy the games and give their best.

he stated.

He further stated that the Desert Foxes are a good side but Stars will be looking to make it difficult for them at the tournament.

“Algeria is a good team. We respect them but on the pitch, we are going to fight. We will try to make it difficult for them,” he added.

Meanwhile Harambee Stars defender Joash Onyango has since been ruled out of the match after picking an ankle injury in training.
