Walter Bwalya Set To Complete Loan Switch To Malatyaspor

Al Ahly striker Walter Bwalya is just a step away from joining Turkish Super Lig side Yeni Malatyaspor and the move will be completed very soon, according to reports in Cairo.

The DR Congo international is not part of Pitso Mosimane’s first team plans for the next Egyptian Premier League season.

As per Yarra Kora, via Middle East in-24, Bwalya is set to arrive in Malatya this weekend with the club’s sporting director Sayed Abdelhafiz to finalize the season-long deal.

“Al-Ahly officials reached an agreement to loan the player for a season, and the player will travel within hours to Turkey to undergo a medical examination before signing the contracts officially,” a source told the publication.

“The matter is currently dependent on Bwalya conducting a medical examination, and if he passes, the loan contracts will be signed for one season only, with the aim of giving him the opportunity to participate mainly and evaluate him before returning again next season to the Red Castle.”

Other reports in Egyptian media continue to state that the move will be a loan with an option to buy.

The 26-year old striker joined Al Ahly in January from another Egyptian Premier League side  El-Gouna on a four-year deal.

However, Bwalya has not impressed since his arrival as he has found the back of the net only three times, with his first league goal coming in July against Entag El-Harby.
