Walter Bwalya: Al Ahly Striker Moves To Yeni Malatyaspor On Loan

Turkish Super Lig side Yeni Malatyaspor have signed Al Ahly striker Walter Bwalya on a one-year loan with an option to buy.

The 26-year old scored five goals and made six assists in 29 appearances for the record ten-time African Champions League champions.

Bwalya joined Al Ahly in January this year from another Egyptian Premier League side El-Gouna on a four-year deal.

“It’s a coup because he’s had top level offers in Europe at what is a key stage of his career,” a source close to the player told Ducor Sports.

“We believe Malatyaspor that is the perfect opportunity, as he will have the team, supply and service, and a Turkish Lig environment around him, so it is a really good match.”

Bwalya, who moved to Egypt from Zambian Super League side Nkana, made his first appearance as a substitute for Al Ahy in a CAF Champions League match against Sonidep.

That was weeks after joining the Red Eagles from El-Gouana in January where he was the previous season’s third top goalscorer of the Egyptian Premier League with 13 goals.

The Democratic Republic of Congo striker could make his debut in a League match against Besiktas on  Sunday 12 September at the Vodafone Arena.
