Tunisian Coach Resigns Even After Winning 5 out of 8 Games

Tunisian local coach has shocked most by resigning from his job despite his side being the domestic league’s third-best side.

A Tunisian local coach has shocked most by resigning from his job despite his side being the domestic league’s third-best side.

According to reports, Chokri Khatoui vacated his portfolio after a disagreement with the board on the back of US Ben Guerdene outfit’s defeat to Sfaxien in the Tunisian championship.

US Ben got humbled by an experienced Sfaxien 2-0 and coach Chokri thought it best he shortens his stay at the Stade de Mars7.

The club board has been reportedly too demanding and Chokri, appointed just in July, felt he has had enough, announcing his departure on Saturday evening.

The North African country’s league has been dogged by controversy since its start this season, with either coaches resigning, team players going on sit-down strikes or FIFA coming hard at teams for failing to pay debts.

This is the second time this year this gaffer is quitting his coaching role after leaving Stade Tunisien for similar reasons in May.

There is no talk of an immediate permanent replacement with his understudy expected to be installed in as interim coach.
