Leicester City Boss Claudio Ranieri Praises Wilfried Ndindi Performance on Debut

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has described the performance of new signing Wilfred Ndidi as “unbelievable” after ‘The Foxes’ went past hosts Everton in the 2-1 win.
Nigeria attacker Ahmed Musa was the star of the game firing a brace from the bench to prove to Ranieri he deserves a starting spot on the line up but the major talking point however was his international team mate Wilfried Ndindi who caught the eyes of many in his first game for the champions.

In the post-match conference, Ranieri was full of praise for the new midfielder and praised his unbelievable performance saying,

“He recovered a lot of balls and played well.”
“For 20 years old to make his first game against Everton, it’s unbelievable.”

Ranieri also praised Ahmed Musa’s performance who came off the bench to score both goals comparing the fast attacker to Jamie Vardy.

Looking very impressed, he pointed out how crucial these goals were for Musa if he’s to play Premier League football.

“It was important for Musa. Maybe now he understands better the Premier League — the fighters.”

“He was a very good threat — similar to Jamie Vardy. Everybody was scared when he attacked the space!”

The manager continued praising his team’s overall performance and their fighting spirit saying “it was important” they went through in the FA.

“I’m very pleased with our performance, we wanted to win and we wanted to go through in the FA Cup, which is an important competition.”

“Then [we wanted to go through] even more because we lost to Everton at home, so we wanted revenge.”

“It was a good match because of course at the beginning Everton pushed a lot and wanted to score a goal, but I’m very pleased with our performance before and after the goal.”

Leicester will be without the Algerian duo, Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani, who will be featuring at the African Cup of nations but it looks they have a new Nigerian duo to cover the gaps in the midfield and attack.
