TP Mazembe Arrive In South Africa For Mamelodi Sundowns Clash

Mamelodi Sundowns’ opponents in the match day four in the group stage of the 2020/21 CAF Champions League, TP Mazembe from Democratic Republic of Congo, arrived in the country on Friday in readiness for Tuesday’s clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

The 21-man contingent that included players and members of technical bench landed at Wonderboom Airport on  Friday afternoon.

TP Mazembe coach Pamphile Mihayo will be aiming for a win in the Tuesday’s tie to increase their chances of making to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Mazembe have confirmed they have arrived safely in South Africa and are ready to start their preparations for the big match.

“The Ravens arrived safely in Nelson Mandela’s land and is ready for the match on Tuesday,” TP Mazembe posted on their official Facebook page.

Mazembe will be fired up and they’ll make conditions as difficult as possible for the South African club, for whom this will be a real test of their mettle.

The Ravens are a proud club with a proud record and have an aura about them; with five Champions League crowns and two Confederation Cup titles to their credit.

Should they beat the Brazilians, the Ravens will move second in Group B with five points after four games.

The DR Congo champions lost the first leg 2-1 against Sundowns in a match that was played in Lubumbashi on Sunday.

The home defeat against the South African giants ended Mazembe’s 74-match unbeaten home record in African competitions.
