Former Liverpool and Guinea forward Titi Camara became a father when his wife delivered a baby on Tuesday, Ducor Sports can reveal.

The baby, who at the point of birth weighed 3.010kg was a source of happiness to Camara who couldn’t help but express his joy, congratulating himself and welcoming the newborn into the world.

“It is with great joy and pride that we announce the birth of a boy, weighing 3.010 kg. Madam and the baby are doing well thanks to the good Lord,” Camara posted on his Facebook account.

Camara married his wife Fatoumata Bah in April 22, 2018 in a colourful wedding held in Conakry after parting with former partner Mariam Koulibaly.

This was after a court in Guinea handed Camara a six-month suspended prison sentence, together with a fine of 50 million Guinean francs (£4,400), after finding him guilty of beating Koulibaly.

Camara played for Saint Etienne, Lens and Marseille before moving to Anfield.

West Ham paid £1.5million for him in 1999, but he made just 14 appearances without scoring across three seasons.

He went on to play for Middle Eastern clubs Al-Ittihad and Al-Sillya, plus French side Amiens, before retiring and had a brief spell as Guinea national coach in 2009.

The 47-year-old was also the West African country’s Minister of Sports between 2010 and 2012 where he managed to achieve a lot during his 21 months in office.

Currently, Camara is serving as Technical Advisor to Guinean Football Federation (Feguifoot) president Antonio Souare.

He has before attempted to run for the Feguifoot presidency but did not meet the requirements to contest.
