Simba SC captain John Bocco believes they have a higher chance in the much anticipated Azam Sports Federation Cup semi-final match against rivals Yanga this weekend.

Simba SC captain John Bocco believes they have a higher chance in the much anticipated Azam Sports Federation Cup semi-final match against rivals Yanga this weekend.

The newly-crowned Tanzania Premier League champions are eyeing the trophy to complete a double while Yanga are keen to win the domestic cup and snatch a ticket to the CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking to the Simba portal ahead of the match, Bocco said the players were looking forward to the tie and they are upbeat that they would carry the day.

“We are aware the game will be difficult, we respect Yanga because it is a good team and they beat us in the last match but this time around we are prepared to win the match,” Bocco said.

“All the players are ready and the morale is high therefore those who will get the chance to start or come from the bench will give their whole for the sake of the team,” he added.

Bocco has also called on the fans to come and support the team in numbers and be patient as the team executes the strategy to ensure that they complete a double.

“I would like to assure our fans we shall give our whole to make them happy that is why we want them to turn up in large numbers as has been their tradition,” Bocco concluded.

This will be the third meeting between the two giants this season with the first round fixture ending 2-2 while Yanga turned on the screw in the second-round contest to win 1-0.

The much-anticipated game will be up on Sunday at National Stadium in Dar es Salaam. The winners of the match will qualify for the final to play Namungo FC who on Saturday beat Sahare All-Stars by a solitary goal.
