Super Eagles Handed Positive News On Injured Ndidi

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi is finally set to return to action on Saturday in Leicester’s Premier League tie against Manchester City.

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi is finally set to return to action on Saturday in Leicester’s Premier League tie against Manchester City.

Ndidi has been out of action since sustaining a knee injury that required surgery last month and was originally feared to be facing a long spell out on the sidelines.

His prompt return will be good news for the Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers ahead of the league encounter with City on Saturday.

“We’re hopeful. We’ll see how that looks. He’s responded well over the last few days of treatment,” Rodgers told Leicester Live.

Ndidi has been a key part of Rodgers’ set-up this season, having featured in 22 league games, scoring two goals in matches played so far.

His prompt injury return will also be good news for Nigeria who are set to play back-to-back 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone on March 23 and March 31 respectively.

Meanwhile, Girondins Bordeaux and Nigeria wing wizard, Samuel Kalu is back in action after recovering from a knee injury that kept him out for close to a month.

He will be available for selection this weekend for Bordeaux’s French Ligue 1 action against champions and high flyers, PSG at the Parc Des Princes.

That means Nigeria national team Gernot Rohr will have almost a full squad to choose from when the three-time African champions regroup in March for the crucial qualifiers against Leone Stars.
