Sundowns Look To Complete Double Over Al Hilal

Sudan Premier League giants Al Hilal will face off with Mamelodi Sundowns in the 2021/2021 African Champions League Group B match in Omdurman on Friday.

Kick-off is at 13h00 GMT.

The Blue Waves were thumped 2-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns in Group B opener played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium over three weeks ago.

Sundowns, who have already qualified for the tournament last eight, are still undefeated in the group stage having played four matches.

The Masandawana beat five-time African champions TP Mazembe 1-0 in Group B match which was played in Pretoria on March 16.

Al Hilal remain winless after being held to a 0-0 draw by Algerian club CR Belouizdad in their previous Champions League game that was played in Omdurman.

The North African side will be looking to return to winning ways against a much-fancied South African side.

Al Hilal’s star striker Mohamed Abdelrahman will be keen to inspire the Blue Waves ,who are coached by Ricardo Formosinho, to a win that will keep their quarterfinals hopes alive.

Meanwhile, Sundowns are oozing with confidence after humiliating a hapless Al Hilal side at home.

Lyle Lakay, who provided assists for the two goals against Al Hilal, will be looking to continue his impressive form and help Sundowns win away in Omdurman.

“It is an important game for us, we have set goals for ourselves, we have won all the group stages games so far. We want to end the group stages on a high and winning this game will take us in that direction,” Lakay told the club website.

“I expect them to come out guns blazing as you know how teams play when they are at home. They are going to throw everything at us as they feel they have the advantage, they might feel that they stand a chance of qualifying.

“We are going to stick to the same plan that we always have for every game to make sure we achieve the goal that we set ourselves for this clash”.

Mamelodi Sundowns are top of group B on 12 points after four matches while Al Hilal are second on 3 points.
