Sundowns Look To Complete Double Against Al Ahly

Mamelodi Sundowns will face off with Al Ahly in the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League Group A match at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 13h00 GMT.

The Brazilians stunned Al Ahly 1-0 in their previous match which was played at the Cairo International Stadium two weeks ago.

Sundowns are still undefeated in the group stage having played three matches. They have recorded two wins and one draw.

The win over Al Ahly retained the South African giants on the top of Group A table with seven points. They are only three points above their opponents, the Red Devils.

Thapelo Morena, who scored the all important goal against Al Ahly, will be looking to continue his scoring form and help Sundowns win at home in Johannesburg.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly will be hoping for a improved performance after laboring to a 3-2 win over El Merreikh in the delayed match day one CAF Champions League clash last weekend.

The record African champions’ win over the Sudanese outfit left them placed second on the Group A table with four points.

The Egyptian giants have tasted defeat once in three group stage matches. The other two matches ended in a draw and a victory.

Pitso Mosimane, the Al Ahly coach, believes his team can grab maximum points in South Africa as they have all what it takes to go home with three points.

Sundowns top Group A with seven points while El Merreikh lie at the bottom with four points.
