Steenberg United Reportedly Targeting Ivorian Defender

South Africa National Division side Steenberg United are discussing the possibility of signing Ivorian defender Enzo Ange.

South Africa National Division side Steenberg United are discussing the possibility of signing Ivorian defender Enzo Ange.

The 23-year-old centre-back is currently a free agent after leaving Kenyan second-division outfit Migori Youth at the end of last season.

Reports from Parow Park have claimed that the left-back has attracted interests from Theo Hempe’s coached side and may meet with Ange once the borders reopen.

Steenberg are also said to be trying to bring in Ugandan midfielder Joseph Mandela, who is a free agent.

Ange was a star performer for Migori Youth over the last season, and his performances has landed him on the radar of a number of clubs.

The news of Steenberg’s interest in the defender has been confirmed to the Ducor Sports by a source close to NDF outfit.

“Ange has certainly caught the attention of Hempe. There is a belief that other clubs could quickly sign the player if Steenberg do not initiate contract talks,” says the source.

The youngster arrived at Migori Youth at the beginning of last season after putting pen to paper on a one-year contract following his move from Malian side AS BBA.

The Ivorian made 26 appearances for Migori Youth in the FKF Nationwide League and two domestic cup matches.
