South Africa: Gordinho Set For Chiefs Exit In January

Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho is reportedly looking for options ahead of January transfer window, further fuelling exit rumours.

Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho is reportedly looking for options ahead of January transfer window, further fuelling exit rumours.

The 25-year-old hasn’t received much game time with Glamour Boys this season and it seems he could be considering a move to gain more minutes on the pitch.

Gordinho, being a senior figure in the team since his arrival from Bloemfontein Celtic a season ago, has been dealing with stiff competition in the defence and that has further fuelled his frustration.

Ducor Sports understands Gordinho is being tracked by two Premier Soccer League sides SuperSport United and Cape Town City.

It is believed there is a bid that has been presented by one of the aforementioned teams, but the amount still falls short of the player’s valuation as Chiefs value him at around $650,000 mark.

Gordinho’s current contract is set to expire in June 2020 and a move away from the club in January could be suitable for in his career.

The defender has played only five league games this season with no goals and no assists

It is yet to be seen what the South Africa international will decide on his future but more game time is what’s on his mind.

Kaizer Chiefs have one game left before the mid-season break as they will take on Maritzburg on December 22, a week before the opening of the transfer window.
