Shakes Mashaba Calls Foul on Lack of Media PR Skills While Demanding Reinstatement or Compensation

Former South Africa coach Shakes Mashaba is headlining the news with the 66-year-old still pursuing a legal route to challenge his sacking by the South African Football Association (SAFA).

The ex-Bafana Bafana gaffer was axed for bringing his employers’ reputation to disrepute by behaving contrary to the rules of the Association and using uncomplimentary remarks towards top its football officials.

Shakes’ lawyers, however, insist that the tactician spoke his mind and are demanding he is reinstated or compensated with immediate effect.

Testifying in a trial being overseen by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, SAFA’s media officer likened Mashaba to an old dog who couldn’t be taught new tricks, a thing the claimant rebuts insisting he wasn’t coached on what to say to the media.

The Bafana Bafana managerial role has been void since Mashaba’s sacking but a new man to take charge of affairs permanently is billed to be announced immediately SAFA president Danny Jordan returns from Zambia.
