Senegal’s Ndiaye Named Africa U-20s Best Player

Senegal’s Moussa Ndiaye may well never continue to turn up for Italian third tier side AJ Fano after picking up the Confederation of African Football U-20 tournament best player award.

Senegal’s Moussa Ndiaye, who plays for Italian third tier side AJ Fano, received the Confederation of African Football U-20 tournament’s best player award.

A defensive-minded midfielder, the 20-year-old, currently on loan at Serie B outfit Pescara, helped lead Senegal to the finals of the Africa U-20 Nations Cup where they lost to eventual winners Mali.

Valued in the region of 50,000 euros in the transfer market, Moussa featured in all games of the cubs in Niger.

Making up for their loss of the U-20 trophy, Senegal bagged virtually all the individual awards; the fair-play gong and the golden boot through 19-year-old Metz striker Amadou Ndiaye on three goals.

Senegal topped Group B, securing all points in three outings before beating Ghana, Burkina Faso and South Africa in the last-16, quarters and semis.
