Senegal’s Gaffer Targets Upset for Burkina Faso

Coach Aliou Cisse is plotting to upset The Stallions when his Teranga Lions meet Burkina Faso this Saturday. The first-leg which will take place in Dakar will see Senegal eyeing to leapfrog leaders Burkina Faso at the summit of their group meeting in the 2018 FIFA Russia World Cup Qualifiers.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“I know my team, I know my players and I’m optimistic. Burkina is our direct opponent and we have to win this game and hope to continue the winning trend to reach the World Cup in 2018,”[/perfectpullquote]

Aliou said in a press conference.

Senegal last qualified for a World Cup tournament in 2002 when Cisse was captain of the team and the former player now turned coach wants an end to that 15-year hoodoo.

Already, the 41-year-old is training with 14 foreign-based players with the team expected to camp in full house before Friday.
