Taranga Lions’ gaffer Aliou Cisse has been told he could get the sack without a severance pay if he fails to the reach Africa Cup of Nations finals or win the title.

With the top class footballers in their ranks, Senegal are of the strong conviction they could clinch the title in Egypt.

Such a belief has led to inclusion of a clause in coach Cisse’s recently renewed contract which could see him out the door if he fails to attain the outlined objectives.

The Football House in Dakar is keen to avoid a repeat of the saga with Amari Traore and Alain Guiresse which had government losing sums in compensations when the two were dismissed as coaches of the national team.

A duplicate copy of Cisse’s deal has been made available to West African nation’s judiciary branch to activate the clause should anything happen in Cairo, a news publication in Senegal claims.

The trajectory means the former defensive midfielder’s longevity on the Lions’ managerial seat hinges on his player’s performances when the finals get started in Cairo.

Senegal last reached the finals once in 2002 –a side Cisse captained then as a player –but ended up losing to eventual winners Cameroon.
