Sebastien Haller: Borussia Dortmund Lining Up Bid For Ajax And Ivory Coast Striker

Borussia Dortmund have taken  the first steps towards trying to sign Ivorian striker Sebastien Haller, according to reports.

Sources from both clubs have distanced themselves from suggestions an official £33m bid has been lodged by Dortmund.

However, there have been talks which it is understood are leading towards the club making a formal offer.

Haller is one of two striking targets indentified by Dortmund boss Edin Terzic this summer to replace Erling Haaland who recently joined English Premier League side Manchester City.

The Bundesliga giants are also interested in signaling Tottenham Hotspurs and captain of England national team Harry Kane.

Haller joined Ajax in January last year from Premiership side Tottenham Hotspurs for around  £20.25million.

He was one of Hotspurs of expensive signings made by former manager Manuel Pellegrini who did not perform to the levels anticipated.

However, the Ivorian star has performed well at Ajax scoring 47 goals in 65 appearances was the third top scorer in last season’s Champions League with 11 goals.

The 27-year-old forward only made his debut for the Elephants in 2020 after ditching France for Ivory Coast.
