Former Nkoranza Warriors midfielder Emmanuel Sarkodie has expressed his happiness after joining Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko on a three-year-contract.

The defensive midfielder, who captained Warriors over the last three years, says it’s a dream come true for him and he’ll continue working hard to prove his worth.

“I am here to do my best to help the club achieve its goals. I believe in hard work and knows that I would not have come this far if I did not push myself,” Sarkodie said yesterday.

Sarkodie hails from Abro Dunkwa but was born and bred in Kumasi thus he is expected to quickly find his feet in the team.

“I was born here in Kumasi and I grew up wishing to play for Kotoko. Coming here is like coming home to where it all started for me as a footballer as I was once a member of the Kotoko Youth Team.”

Sarkodie was reportedly on the radar for Hearts of Oak for some time and it was previously reported that they had revived their interest of the youngster before they captured Malian Abdourahamane Mamane Lawali.

Nonetheless, the Porcupine Warriors has swooped in and secured the services of Sarkodie in a contract that has an option for renewal for a further year.

Asante Kotoko are currently fourth on Ghana Premier League with 25 points after 14 round of matches.

The Ghana Premier League was suspended on March 16, 2020 following the President of the West African country, Nana Akufo- Addo announcement of the government’s decision to ban all social gatherings, with effect for the next one month.
