South Africa’s Tobeho Mokoena says he has previously scored outrageous goals like the one that condemned Ivory Coast to defeat on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old sent the Rainbow Nation to top of Group B of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations on four points after two outings. The SuperSport United midfielder was the difference-maker curling in a long-range free-kick in the 79th minute to turnaround a game that had looked headed for a goalless stalemate.

His jaw-dropping masterpiece earned him the man-of-the-match and harping on his winning effort, the €1M valued attacker, said: “This is a great advantage for us and we hope to continue our way in the tournament. I scored many goals like this before, this is my trademark.”

Coach David Nataone reckons it was a hectic affair, extolling the goal but refused to be carried away by the triumph over Ivory Coast.

“It was a tough game against a good team. We missed many chances and that made us a bit nervous, but afterwards, we managed to win through a brilliant goal. We won nothing yet and we have to remain focused in our next game,” he told CafOnline.com
