Rwanda Name Squad to Face Mozambique And Cameroon in AFCON Qualifiers

Rwanda have named 27-man Amavubi squad for two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mambas and Indomitable Lions.

Rwanda have named 27-man Amavubi squad for two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mambas and Indomitable Lions.

The first match is against Mozambique on Thursday, 14, October at Estadio do Zimpeto while the next match against Cameroon will be on Sunday, 17, October at Kigali National Stadium.

Amavubi coach Vincent Mashami has handed call ups to a number of players including Kenya-based goalkeeper Every Mvuyekure, US-based Rwatubyaye Abdoula as well as Angola based Jacques Tuyisenge.

Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza and Habimana Hussein are major omissions from Mashami’s squad again after missing the Tanzania friendly that was played last month in Kigali.

The Amavubi are expected to begin training in Kigali from Monday 11 November 2019 with the team expected to hold one training session a day.

Rwanda are in Group F of the qualifiers alongside Cameroon, Cape Verde, and Mozambique for the tournament which will be staged in Yaounde in 2021.
