Russia 2017 FIFA Confederation Cup: Cameroon to Face Australia

Cameroon will meet Australia in its second Group B match of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup today at Saint Petersburg Stadium. Both teams lost their opening matches against Chile and Germany respectively and will be facing each other for the first time.

Despite the defeat to Chile, Hugo Broos was satisfied with the team’s performance saying, [perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“Disappointed with the result but satisfied with the performance.”[/perfectpullquote]

The Indomitable Lions will be the expected to perform better than they did in their opening game with a focus on Christian Bassogog who didn’t do much to shine in the previous game.

Australia is yet to collect a point in its three Group matches at the tournament last recording a win in 2001 when the side beat Brazil in a third place play-off.

The Socceroos are expected to stick to their proactive approach and hope they don’t concede goals too quickly. Manchester City’s Aaron Mooy will be expected to contribute more this time.
