Cameroon national team captain Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting could be on his way out of Paris St-Germain at the end of the season, according to sources close to the Parc des Princes outfit.

The 31-year-old, who joined PSG in 2018 from a stint with English Premier League side Stoke City, has struggled for enough regular game-time at Red and Blues this season.

“Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s name has been mentioned among those of players that could be on their way out of Paris St-Germain at the end of the season. The decision on players leaving will be made at the end of the season,” said the source.

Choupo-Moting has only played 18 games, scoring 5 goals this season, with his contract set to expire at the end of June.

The forward joined PSG on a free transfer from Stoke City after the English side cancelled the deal by mutual consent.

He had signed for Stoke in the summer of 2017, going on to make 32 league and cup appearances.

The German-born goal poacher was named Cameroon national team captain prior to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, taking over from Benjamin Moukandjo, who announced retirement from international duty in September 2018.

Choupo-Moting has represented Indomitable Lions for two Nations Cup following his debut in 2015. He excused himself from the 2017 championship, which the Lions eventually won.
