Pistone Mutamba has left Kenyan Premier League side Bidco United to join Libyan top-flight outfit Asswehly SC.

Pistone Mutamba has left Kenyan Premier League side Bidco United to join Libyan top-flight outfit Asswehly SC.

In a surprise move, Asswehly confirmed the transfer on Tuesday morning that the 23-year-old has joined them on a season-long contract.

“Asswehly SC is pleased to announce the signing of Pistone Mutamba. The Kenyan international striker joined from Bidco United,” the club said on its website.

Mutamba, who has had spells playing in Kenya Premier League with Wazito and Sofapaka, leaves Bidco after playing 10 games and scoring two goals over three months with the club.

“I am very happy to be here in Libya and the club has received me very well. The players, coaches and management are all pleased to have me here and that has helped me settle down already,” Mutamba told reporters after inking the deal.

The Kakamega High School alumnus becomes the second Kenyan to ever feature in Libyan top-flight league after Masoud Juma who played for Al Nasr.

The towering forward has won seven caps for Kenya, having made his debut in 2018.
