Nigerian Footballer Denied Germany Visa

Nigerian striker Uche Nwofor won’t be traveling out to Germany for pre-season after being denied a visa.

Nigerian striker Uche Nwofor won’t be traveling out to Germany for pre-season after being denied a visa, Ducor Sports understands.

The one-time Super Eagles star was scheduled to depart for Germany along with Algerian club RSK Kabylie where they are billed to play four matches to toughen up as the start of the North African country’s league nears.

However, to the 26-year-old’s dismay, all his new teammates were granted visa except him, with the German embassy demanding he presents further documents.

As a result, the former Nigeria U-20 goal-getter is stuck at the club’s base in Tizi Ouzou.

The development means Kabylie’s gaffer Cherif Mellal many not be able to assess his new signing on time as he attempts to shape up his team.

A spokesperson from the club says the Lagos-born striker may be prompted to wait until the team returns from its European tour.

A journeyman-like player, Uche switched to the Algerians from Nigerian domestic outfit Rivers United at a reported £203,000 fee.

Capped ten times with the Super Eagles, the attacker has had spells at AS Trencin in Slovakia, SK Lierse in Belgium, Boavista in Portugal and VV-Venlo in the Netherlands.
