Nigerian Defender Dreams Of Big European Move

Talented Nigerian defender Michael Kalu is eyeing a big club in Europe in the next few years following his impressive form for Djiboutian side Association Club Sportive de Hayableh.

The 20-year-old centre-back had been a rock in Heyableh in this term helping his team finish in the seventh position in recently concluded Djibouti Premier League.

Speaking to Ducor Sports, the Okrika-born star said he is adamant on improving his individual performance in the hopes of realizing his dream of playing in Europe.

“My hope is to play in England, Spain or Germany in the next few years,” Kalu told Ducor Sports.

“It is also my dream to feature for the Super Eagles in a World Cup, and I will not hesitate when the chance comes.”

Kalu added: “Is all about the grace of God, determination and hard work that I have come so far. I am just waiting for a call-up to show my pedigree.”

Tanzania Premier League side Namungo are reported to be keen to capture the centre-back so to improve their defence next season.

Namungo are currently in position eight in the Tanzania Premier League with 40 points, twenty four adrift table leaders Simba Sports Club.

Kalu featured 22 times for the Djibouti top-flight side across all competitions since his arrival from the Somalia Premier League a season ago.
