Nigeria Name Final Squad For 2021 Africa Cup Of Nations

Nigeria head coach Augustine Eguavoen has named the final squad for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Cameroon.

Four players Kelechi Nwakali, Spain-based Sadiq Umar and Orlando Pirates’ Olisa Ndah are surprise inclusions in the squad

Villarreal star Samuel Chukwueze, captain Ahmed Musa, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong  Francis Uzoho andTorino’s Ola Aina have also made the cut.

Goalkeepers Maduka Okoye and Francis Uzoho, defenders Kenneth Omeruo, Olaoluwa Aina and Abdullahi Shehu, midfielders Joseph Ayodele-Aribo and Chidera Ejuke and forwards Moses Simon, Odion Ighalo and Samuel Chukwueze are also on the roster.

Victor Osimhen, who is recovering from an injury, is part of the 28-man squad which has Enyimba goalkeeper John Noble as  the only player from the country’s domestic league, the NPFL.

All invited players are expected to arrive in camp in the Nigeria’s federal capital, Abuja on 29th December, with the UK-based players expected to start arriving on Monday, 3rd January.
