Mosimane Not Satisfied Despite Winning Another CAF Champions League Title

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has admitted he was not satisfied with his team’s performance despite winning their tenth CAF Champions League title.

The Red Eagles walloped ten-man Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in 2020/2021 CAF Champions League final played at Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco on Saturday night.

Al Ahly scored their goals from Mohamed Sherif, Magdy Afsha and Mohamed Elsoulia in the second stanza after Happy Mashiane received marching orders right at the stroke of halftime.

Despite taking bagging second title as in-charge of the Egyptian giants, Mosimane has called more from the players.

“We have not arrived where I want the team to come to. There is a lot of improvement that needs to be done. We have to strengthen the team to make it stronger, especially because we want to do well in the FIFA Club World Cup,” Mosimane told a press conference.

Mosimane was celebrating his third as coach and second with Ahly, having led them to the crown last season.

“We feel good. We made a promise to win the tenth cup and we have delivered the tenth cup. I must say congratulations to the boys, who have done very well,” the  South African gaffer added.

“I would like to congratulate the club president Mahmoud El Khatib for the support he gave me and for believing in me.”

Al Ahly now have 22 Africa titles while Chiefs still claim just the one, the now-defunct African Cup Winners’ Cup in 2001.
