Mosimane Labels Kaizer Chiefs As Unpredictable Side

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane remained cautious ahead of facing opportunistic Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Champions League final.

The Red Eagles will eye for their tenth African Champions League title when they face the Amakhosi in a highly anticipated July 17 one-off final.

Kaizer Chiefs provided a shocking result from the last four by bundling Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca out the competition after a 1-0 score line over the two legs.

Speaking to Al Ahly television, Mosimane labeled Kaizer Chiefs as a tough and unpredictable side in this season.

“You never know with them, they can play a very good game and sometimes they do not show the same performance,” said Mosimane.

“They lost 4-0 to Wydad in a neutral venue and then they went to face Wydad in Morocco and won. They defeated Simba 4-0 at home but lost 3-0 in Tanzania. You must not try to make sense out of it, just focus on the game.”

The former Mamelodi Sundowns boss however maintains his side will be out to win the match.

“I do not have personal emotions on Kaizer Chiefs, no personal emotions and that is what I did also when I faced Sundowns. The match against Kaizer Chiefs is not about me and it is not about South Africa; It is about my team and the 90 minutes we have to win the title,” Mosimane added.

Al Ahly sailed to the final after sweeping aside Esperance de Tunis by a 4-0 aggregate score as they look to defend their crown.

They defeated the four-time African champions 1-0 away, before hammering them 3-0 at home.
