Gambia’s Momodou Ceesay ends love-affair with Slovakia’s Zilina

Momoudou Ceesay has ended his love-affair with Premier League giants MSK Zilina after terminating his contract with the Slovakian outfit on mutual agreement, according to Foroyaa Sport.

The Spaghetti-legged goal-poacher rejoined Zilina July this year on a short term contract having impressed on the back of a week trial.

This followed a six-month run without a club after leaving Israel’s Maccabi Netanya. With an injury blighted spell the whole of last year, Momo had hoped to re-launch his career with return to Zilina where he’s much revered for changing the club’s history, transforming them from minnows to a Champions League side in 2010.

His arrival did reawaken spirits of a possible return to the days in Zilina, when they conquered and commandeered the Slovakian league. His second coming and debut in the side’s 4-0 savaging of Tatran Prešov was greeted with a standing ovation from club faithful.

That, the Scorpion would have believed, marked beginning of a new dawn with his rekindled love-affair with the Yellow and Greens but sadly, it wasn’t destined to last beyond September’s end and owing to numerous, say injuries, forcing the player and the club to terminate the deal.

Zico had played five times for the side clocking one hundred and nineteen minutes of league football.
