Mandela Reaches Decision On Proline Future

Proline FC midfielder Joseph Mandela appears to have made up his mind on whether or not to remain with Ugandan Premier League outfit Proline FC next season.

Proline FC midfielder Joseph Mandela appears to have made up his mind on whether or not to remain with Ugandan Premier League outfit Proline FC next season.

Mandela’s contract with the Lugogo-based outfit is set to end in June this year and his future has been the subject of intense speculation all season.

With the StarTimes sponsored league season almost certain to finish beyond June, the likelihood that the star will leave the club after his contract expires at the end of next month has increased.

According to a source close to Mandela, the former Adjumani Town Council midfielder has made the decision to not renew his contract with Uganda Cup defending champions.

“Mandela is still pondering his future and chances that he will stay at Proline next season are slim,” the source tells Ducor Sports.

“Initially he wanted to leave last year before he reconsidered after Mujib Kasule gave him another chance.”

The 25-year-old as a key figure for the Uganda Cup Champions in the last season’s CAF Confederation Cup and his contribution elevated the club back to the Startimes Premier League.

Mandela has featured in 29 matches in all competitions this term with six goals and as it remains unclear when the 2019/20 season will resume, the nippy midfielder could part ways with the club before the end of this term.

Another player set to leave Proline is Kiwanuka Hakim, whose contract will not be renewed at the end of the season.
