Madagascar to Face Mauritania, Kenya in Pre-Afcon Friendlies

Ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, the Barea of Madagascar will play against Mauritania and Kenya in pre-tournament friendlies in June, according to coach of the Madagascar team Nicolas Dupuis.

The three teams will use the game to fine tune their preparations for the 2019 AFCON with Madagascar keen on playing another friendly game before the tournament and talks with Luxembourg is progressing nicely.

The Malagasy squad will base themselves in Montdidier, some 100km from Paris and will take Kenya on June 7 at Saint-Leu Forest and then eight days later they go up against Mauritania in Franconville.

Dupuis confirmed the games will help him decide on his team and also play a role in helping them prepare adequately for the tournament, where they will play in group B with the likes of Guinea, Nigeria and Burundi.

The two top –placed teams in each group, as well as the best four third-placed teams, will qualify for the knock-out rounds.

Meanwhile, all matches of the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations finals, set for 21st June – 19th July, will take place at the Cairo International Stadium, Al Salam Stadium in Cairo, Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Suez Stadium, Ismailia Stadium and the Air Defence Stadium in Cairo.
