Luís Miquissone: Al Ahly Finally Unveil Mozambican Midfielder

Al Ahly have finally confirmed the arrival of Mozambican international Luís Miquissone, three weeks after signing him.

The 26-year-old signed a pre-contract to join the Cairo giants at the beginning of August but has been unable to play because transfer widow was not officially open.

Miquissone was officially presented at the Al Salam Stadium on Thursday, alongside Egyptian youth international Amir Fouad, who signed from a five-year contract from Nogoom FC.

His absence from training had left many Al Ahly fans wondering but on Thursday, the club also announced his arrival on their social media pages.

“Look we have a new magician,” Al Ahly wrote on their Facebook page. “Welcome Luis Miquissone.”

On their official website, the club said; “Amir Tawfik, head of the club’s transfers department, announced the signing of Luis Miquissone, Mozambiquan winger, to Al Ahly.”

Miquissone joins the Red Eagles from Tanzania Mainland Premier League side Simba Sports Club, where he was one of stand-out performers in last season’s CAF Champions League.

He rejoins current Al Ahly’s coach Pitso Mosimane whom he briefly worked with at Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018, but he wasn’t given a chance, leaving the Tshwane giants without making an official appearance.
