Local Tunisian Coach Banned for Touchline Scuffle

Local Tunisian – Athletique Club Bizertin – coach Lassad Driddi was banned for a touchline scuffle that occurred last week after he was involved in a brawl with Etoile Du Sahel’s assistant coach Redha Jeddi during his side’s 2-1 loss.

Hamza Jelassi put hosts Bizertin ahead four minutes before Etoile rallied late to score twice through Mohammed Amine Chermiti and Rami Bedoui.

Driddi and Jeddi broke into an exchange of words, prompting the latter to head-butted Lassad and leaving him with a cut above the nose.

The Tunisia Professional League’s disciplinary committee stepped in to probe the issue after photos and footage of the incident emerged.

The body summoned both coaches to its headquarters in Tunis and upon completion of its findings, imposed a two-game ban on Driddi for his part in provoking the altercation and fined both domestic clubs Bizertin and Sahel one thousand dinars each.
