Liberia Drop Two Places in Latest FIFA Ranking

The Lone Star of Liberia have dropped two places in the latest FIFA world ranking released on Thursday, November 30.

According to the latest ranking, Liberia dropped from 151st to 153rd position on the global ranking.

The ranking decline is related to the team’s underwhelming performance in the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Lone Star’s struggle for a win since July 2022 continued in November when they lost two home matches against Malawi and Equatorial Guinea in Group H of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The Lone Star lost 1-0 in both matches, placing them in the second-from-bottom position among six teams. They have now gone nine games without a win.

The Comoros Islands (119th, up 9) are the biggest movers in the latest ranking, climbing nine steps following wins against the Central African Republic and Ghana in the World Cup Qualifiers.

Other big African movers include Rwanda, Guinea-Bissau, and Libya, who claimed seven and six places, respectively.

Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt are the top five teams in Africa.
