Liberia Announce Final Squad for Doubleheader against South Africa

Liberia national team head coach Ansumana Keita has named his final 23-man squad for this month’s doubleheader against South Africa in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Coach Keita’s final list was announced following a month-long training with local-based players, out of which seven were selected.

Midfielder Nohan Kenneh, who plays for Ross County on loan from Hibernian, is the newest foreign-based addition to the squad.

Notable absentees from the squad include striker Kpah Sherman, midfielders Brem Soumaoro and Seth Hellberg, who were all part of the squad in the Lone Star’s previous qualifier match against Morocco.

The Lone Star will travel to Johannesburg on Monday, March 18, ahead of the first-leg clash against the Bafana Bafana on Friday, March 24 at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

The two teams will then make it a second date at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium in Paynesville on Tuesday, March 28.
