Lekhal’s Nations Cup Hopes Over

Victor Lekhal’s dreams of playing in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations are all but over after being ruled out for seven months.

The 25-year-old ruptured his right knee ligament in the recent friendly with Tunisia after their one-all stalemate with Gambia’s Scorpions.

The injury is thought to be a recurrence with his French outfit Le Havre confirming the defensive midfielder will be out on the peripheries for seven months effectively, ruling him out for the Africa Cup of Nations until possibly in November.

The news come as a setback for Algerian gaffer Djamal Belmadi who’d thought to be considering including the Paris-born to his final squad bound for Egypt.
