Herve Koffi, the Stallions first-choice goalkeeper is a doubt for Burkina Faso’s back to back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Malawi.

The 23-year-old, who turns for Portuguese club Belenenses SAD, suffered a dislocation of the right shoulder during training.

According to a source at Burkina Faso Football Federation (FBF), his team doctors are working around the clock to get the first choice keeper to full fitness.

“The goalkeeper re-injured his shoulder during training with his Portuguese outfit and underwent surgery earlier this week,” the source disclosed.

Koffi missed the first two games for Burkina Faso in November last year courtesy of a thigh injury and his place was taken by AS Customs custodian Babayoure Sawadogo, who went on to produce a man of the match display on both matches.

At this stage, the extent of the shot-stopper’s injury is unclear but chances of him turning out for Bafana are very slim.

Should Koffi be ruled out of the two international matches, then Kamou Malo might be tempted to replace him with another goalkeeper.

For the past matches, he was selected alongside SC Majestic goalkeeper Farid Ouedragao and Sawadogo
