Kenya U23 midfielder Ahmed Ahmad is training with Mombasa based Kenyan Premier League side, Bandari after parting ways with Mathare United on mutual consent.

Ahmed, a left-footed attacking midfielder has been in Mathare’s books since January 2017 when he was promoted from the U-20 team.

His playtime this season has been minimal owing to the arrival of James Kinyanjui from Thika United. Consequently, he quit the club and returned to Mombasa where he is training with Bandari.

“I can confirm that we have parted ways with Ahmed. It was a mutual agreement between him and the club and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” Mathare media liaison officer Samuel Gacharira- told Ducor Sports.

The Mombasa born midfielder is now training with Bandari and the Dockers coach Bernard Mwalala is hoping to tie down the Kenya U23 ace.

“Yes, he’s training with us right now. He’s a quality player who will definitely improve the team. We are yet to sign him but I think we will complete everything soon. He’s Mombasa born and bred and that’s a factor that will convince him to join us,” Mwalala told Ducor Sports when contacted.

Bandari has already signed Nigerian striker Alex Orotomal to beef up its forward line in the absence of striker Wycliffe Ochomo who’ll be out for the remainder of the season with an arm fracture.
