KCCA Dominate Cranes Final Squad For CHAN Qualifier

Startimes Premier League defending champions Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC dominate the squad with six players.

Defender John Revita , who featured against Kenya in an international friendly in Nairobi ten days ago, leads the Kasasiro Boys contingent that also have Charles Lukwago, Mustafa Kiiza, Nicholas Kasozi, Seleiman Mutyaba and Allan Okello.

And after missing out on duty for the national team in the first round of qualifiers against, striker Viane Ssekajugo finally made it to the final 18-man squad.

Players who have been dropped include Edrisa Lubega who recently joined Uganda Cup champions Proline FC together with his counterpart Sam Kintu among others.

“The team is ready everyone in the team is prepared, determined and committed to giving positive results and performance when we meet Burundi over the weekend,” said Cranes coach Mubiru.

“That gives me courage as a coach because the best you can get from players is the situation whereby they are ready to give whatever they can for the success of the team.”

The team is expected to travel aboard Kenya Airways in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

The game will be played on Saturday, 21st September in Bujumbura. The second leg will be played at the Nelson Mandela Stadium on October 18.

The winner of the two-legged qualifier will book a ticket for the tournament that will be hosted in Cameroon next year.

Defenders: Willa Paul Vipers SC), Mustafa Mujuzi (Proline FC), Kizza Mustafa (KCCA FC), Revita John KCCA FC), Mbowa Paul (URA FC), Halid Lwaliwa (Vipers SC)

Midfielders: Mutyaba Muzamir (KCCA FC), Kagimu Shafiq (URA FC), Okello Allan (KCCA FC), Yusuf Ssozi (Police FC), Nicholas Kasozi (KCCA FC), Bright Anukani (Proline FC), Vianne Ssekajugo (Wakiso Giants)

Strikers:  Sserunkuma Daniel (Vipers SC), Fahad Bayo (Vipers SC), Mike Mutyaba (KCCA FC)
