John Bocco Ruled Out Of Tanzania’s Match Against Namibia

Tanzania will be without their inspirational skipper John Raphael Bocco in the team’s second game of 2020 Africa Nations Championship against Namibia on Saturday night.

Tanzania will be without their inspirational skipper John Raphael Bocco in the team’s second game of 2020 Africa Nations Championship against Namibia on Saturday night.

The striker missed the opening game against Zambia due to a recurring injury that he sustained during Tanzania’s Community Shield tie against Azam FC in August.

Bocco had returned into action during Simba’s 4-0 win against FC Platinum in the CAF Champions League, but he is yet to regain his form.

Tanzania national team head coach Etienne Ndayiragije has confirmed that Bocco will not be available for selection against the Brave Warriors when the two teams clash at Stade de Limbe in Buea, Cameroon.

However, Ndayiragije has made it clear that he has other players who should be able to do a fantastic job in this important match.

“It is a very important match because it decides what happens next for us in the tournament. After losing the opening game, we are certainly going to change our approach against Namibia,” said Ndairagije.

Tanzania are expected to name experienced defender Erasto Edward Nyoni in the starting line-up after his recovery from a knock during one of the training sessions.

“It is always good to have experienced players like Nyoni on the pitch because they motivate the team to push harder and not to give up,” Ndairagije added.

Tanzania will have to beat Namibia for them to have hopes of progressing to the next stage of the completion after losing 2-0 to Zambia in Group D opener.
