James Akaminko Price Tag Revealed As Yanga Swoop In For Azam Midfielder

Young Africans are reportedly eyeing a move for Azam midfielder James Akaminko and new reports have revealed the price tag the Ice Cream Makers have put on the Ghanaian.

Azam have one of the best midfield strengths in Tanzanian football, not just in the first team. The likes of Keneth Muguna, Sospeter Bajana and Abdallah Kheri are fighting for positions.

Since joining Azam in July this year, Akaminko has cemented his position in the midfield and has scored important goals that have put the Chamazi-based side among title contenders.

Yanga have been monitoring his performances and are wanting to buy Akaminko during the January transfer window as a replacement for Fei Toto who has left the club.

According to reliable sources at Azam, Akaminko’s price tag has been set as $500,000 with Yanga willing to spend around $ 350,000 to sign the star.

Yanga, however,  will have to face competition from other clubs for the 27-year-old’s signature as many teams including Simba Sports Club are also eyeing a move for the highly-rated midfielder.

Akaminko joined Azam after leaving Ghana Premier League side Great Olympics following the expiry of his contract.

He switched to Olympics in February 2021 after a failed move to Tunisian Ligue 1 club US Tataouine in October 2020 despite signing a contract with the club.

The central midfielder also played AshantiGold SC as well as  Medeama SC in the Ghanaian top division.
