Iwobi Injured in Arsenal’s Loss to Liverpool.

Arsenal’s injury woes continued in today’s 4-2 loss against Liverpool. To add to the pain of defeat, more players joined Arsene Wenger’s ever growing list of injuries.

Alex Iwobi was forced to leap off at the hour mark after taking a knock in the opening fixture. The Nigerian sensation who broke into the squad last season hoped this would be his break-though season to cement his place in the first team. Iwobi was outstanding in the match creating Arsenal’s first goal for Theo Walcott.

He was later joined by Aaron Ramsy who also limped off the pitch few minutes after coming on as a substitute.

Wenger in a post game conference confirmed the players had suffered Thigh and Hamstring injuries respectively. He went on to say, “We are not ready physically; players have come back late after the Euros, and then you are in a catch 22 situation.

“They play when they are not quite ready, like Ramsey, and get injured.”

“Ramsey has a hamstring injury; I do not yet know how bad it is because I need to speak to the medical team.”

“And Iwobi has a thigh injury.”

They join the long list of Arsenal injured players like Danny Welbeck, Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista, Karl Jenkinson, and Jack Wilshire(unspecified).

Both players will be a significant doubt in Arsenal’s next fixture as they travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester next week.
