Ivorian Striker Agoussi Terminates Deal With Club Africain

Ivory Coast’s Phillippe Okan Agoussi is in search for a new employer after parting ways with Club Africain, Ducor Sports understands.

The 25-year-old striker and the Tunisian outfit go their separate ways having reached an agreement after an hour’s showdown talks with the team’s board behind closed doors.

Okan has not managed to convince the Tunisians of his worth since signing as a free agent during last January’s window.

Scoring only once in the sixteen months he’d spent at the Stade Olympique Rades, gaffer Bertrand Machand thought it best to let go the centre-forward to free up space for new reinforcements.

He becomes the latest forward to head out of the door as the North African giants look to inject in new signings to build on from their second position finish last campaign.

Chammakhi Yassine and Mehdi Ouedherfi have been the preferred men up in attack as the Ivorian fell further down the coach’s pecking order.

With this, Phillippe is now expected to search for a club with a switch to another team likely expected this month.

A return to his native Ivory Coast is said to be his priority amid reports suggesting he could reunite with former clubs Asec Mimosas or Stade d’Abidjan.
